Ladies Who Brunch

It’s no secret that brunch has become the most popular meal of the day, within recent years. It is the meal that is no longer breakfast but not quite lunch yet. More than a meal, it has become a social experience, something to gather round to, usually during the weekends and especially after a long night of too many drinks. Having brunch with your girlfriends out at a restaurant is fun, but hosting one, is even more special and makes the social experience even more personable. I don’t know about you, but any excuse to host a brunch, is one that I will most definitely take advantage of! I will take the opportunity to make any event and make it beautiful (extra, if you will). And that, I did! Today I will be sharing, how to style the perfect tablescape for your next ladies brunch.

I will get straight to the point and let you know the key items you will need to pull off the perfect tablescape for your next ladies brunch. I have attached my must-have items down below to make this or something similar to this possible <3.

The Perfect Tablescape: The Table as the Main Anchor

  1. Table: First things first, I love starting off with the main character, which is, the table. I consider this the anchor. I always prefer wood with vintage accents, like the one shown here. You can get pretty creative with any table you choose but starting with the table allows you to smoothly transition and get a vibe for the rest of the decor.
  2. Candles: Candles have the ability to set up a romantic and relaxing atmosphere. I usually lean more towards vintage brass candlesticks but you can do tea light candles or the regular white cylinder ones too.
  3. Table Runner: The one shown here is one I thrifted, but you can get as fancy as you’d like. Don’t be afraid to get creative with silk, cotton, or linen.
  4. Flowers: Fresh flowers will be the cherry on top with any tablescape, it naturally pulls everything in. You can do an arrangement of fresh flowers or dry florals, or both, as they both will look stunning.
  5. Place Setting: I have a whole blog post on how to style a table setting for any occasion.
  6. Food: From delicious pastries to charcuterie boards (cheeseboards), sandwiches, finger foods, drinks, etc. It all comes down to what you would like to have. I have a detailed blog post on how to style a charcuterie board here.

Backdrop, because, why not?

Really, because, you’ll want to take some cute pictures for “the Gram” right? You can add a simple backdrop the way I did here. I chose a Pampas and Sun-Dried Palms to accessorize with. These can be found at my shop www.decorwithamor.com. You can also go with a balloon wreath or something more simple like a cute banner.

How To Style the Perfect Tablescape: Rugs & Throw Pillows

Layering is key

  1. Rugs are very fun and important to use while styling your event. I love to use a good natural fiber rug for the base.
  2. Pillows are also a must, make sure to get ones with different patterns and colors. I sewed the ones shown here, with the tassels, but you can find really cute ones in thrift shops.

Helpful Tips:

  1. Have fun!
  2. Create a faux setup about a few days or weeks prior. That way you can be confident about your design.
  3. Thrift what you can! I will, always, always, always push thrifting, because of the many treasures you’ll find!
  4. D.I.Y what you can
